Here at Raw Kullture, we are excited to dive head first into #ai art & technology.
As the creative director, I’ve spent weeks over the past few months, diving deep into the world of Ai imagery, submerging myself in the technology, in a bid to understand it, not just from a technical point of view, but from a socio-cultural one also.
Like many, I make my living creating images, images that hopefully entertain, provoke and connect. I’ve spent 10 years honing my skills and working on my craft.
The image attached to this post, was generated in twenty seconds, it’s taken me days to understand the prompts, to learn the right language, in order to manipulate the ai to produce high-quality images.
I’m worried because in a few years, I might be out of a job, or at least what I used to call a job. I have a feeling, the “job” will simply evolve, as all things must.
I’m excited…because wow, the possibilities are endless. If you can imagine it, you can create it, if you can master the technology, you can create imagery of great beauty, way beyond the current compression of visual boundaries.
Will brands use this for campaign imagery?
Will newspapers & magazines use it for editorial?
Will schools use it to recreate moments of the past…a full-scale rendering of the moon landing?
Will governments use it to manipulate?
I created this image, well, I entered the prompts, prompts I worked hard to learn, does that make the image mine?
In current U.K copyright law, it does, in North American copyright law, the image belongs to no one.
Can I put this image in my portfolio? Can I sell it? Can I create similar for clients and bill them?
It’s the American Frontier and I’m absolutely heading west to stake my land, to master the technology as best I can, before it masters me.
